Elkhart County APA
Elkhart County APA started in 1992. I bought the league franchise in 1999. My name is Jim Rose everyone calls me JR.
When I first took over this league, there was only 16 teams playing, now we're up to 60.
I have been a member of APA since 1992, and played in the league for seven years. Been to Las Vegas, played in the National tournament in 1997.
End of session tri-cups, captains tournament, topgun tournament
At the local level, the Elkhart APA gives out more than $41,000 in cash, prizes and trips every year. All prizes are guaranteed!
The APA guarantees more than $1,000,000 in national tournament prize money. This
consists of the $500,000 National Team Championships, the $100,000 APA 9-ball National Team Championships, the $200,000 APA 8-ball Classic Singles Championship, the $100,000 9-ball Singles Championship, and more than $100,000 for the 8-ball Scotch Doubles, Jack-n-Jill, and 9-ball Scotch Doubles tournaments.
The APA also conducts the US Amateur Championship, the pool world's most prestigious amateur tournament, which is the only competition open to APA members and non-members alike. Players enter a regional competition and battle it out of one of 128 spots for the final tournament in Laurel, Maryland each year.
The Equalizer?
One of the keys to the success of the APA is the Equalizer?, the unique handicapping and scoring system that makes it possible for players of all abilities - especially novices and beginners - to compete on an equal basis. The Equalizer? uses a formula that measures a player's ability. The result is a handicap of how many games a player must win to capture a match in 8-ball or the number of points a player must earn to win a match in the 9-ball format.
Whether 8-ball or 9-ball, or triple play the APA has it for you. Good Luck and Good Shooting!
